Actor Chris Hemsworth, who plays the mythological superhero Thor in the Marvel films, has put his mortal realm in Malibu’s Point Dume on the market for $6.5 million.

He and wife, Elsa Pataky, are selling because they moved back to Hemsworth’s native Australia last year.

Set behind gates on a full acre, the remodeled Victorian-style home has contemporary interiors, a library and vaulted ceilings. Front-facing windows, balconies and verandas take in ocean views.

Formal living and dining rooms, a chef’s kitchen, an atrium, five bedrooms and six bathrooms lie within 6,800 square feet of interiors. Light wood floors, built-in bookshelves, wainscoting and three gas fireplaces are among the details.

The master suite, which has a sitting area and two walk-in closets, opens to a private lanai.

Outdoors, hedged and gated grounds are filled with rolling lawns, a play structure and a one-bedroom guesthouse. A detached three-car garage has been outfitted as a home gym.

Hemsworth, 32, is known for his role as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will star in “Thor: Ragnarok” next year. Among his other film credits are “The Cabin in the Woods” (2012), “Rush” (2013) and “Blackhat” (2015).

Pataky, 39, was in last year’s “Furious 7” as well as the two previous installments of the “Fast & Furious” franchise, “Fast & Furious 6” and “Fast Five.”

The couple bought the house three years ago from actors Paul Hogan and Linda Kozlowski for $4.8 million.

Ryan Davis of John Aaroe Group is the listing agent.

Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts has purchased a home in Malibu for $6.84 million in a deal completed off-market.

The ranch-style house on more than an acre sits directly across the street from her longtime residence in the Point Dume area.

Property records show that the home, built in 1953, has three bedrooms and two bathrooms in roughly 1,800 square feet of living space. There are nine rooms in all.

Large lawns, gardens, a trellis-topped sitting area and a two-car garage fill the grounds. A gated motor court marks the entrance to the home.

The property was briefly on the market two years ago for $7.85 million. Before the sale, it had been in the process of foreclosure.

The 48-year-old actress won an Academy Award for her leading role in “Erin Brockovich” (2000) and was nominated for her turns in “August: Osage County” (2013), “Pretty Woman” (1990) and “Steel Magnolias” (1989). She will be in the upcoming films “Mother’s Day” and “Money Monster.”

Her home is a page-turner

If these walls could talk: The longtime Beverly Hills home of the late author Jackie Collins, who was known for capturing Hollywood glamour and salacious detail, is for sale at $30 million.

The art deco-inspired contemporary mansion of nearly 22,000 square feet was custom built for Collins in 1991.

Designed for small- and large-scale entertaining, the home opens in dramatic fashion to a two-story gallery entry staircase topped by light vestibules and skylights. Grand formal areas, a library, a wet bar and a chef’s kitchen with three islands are among features of note.

The master suite, as if taking a page from the author’s works, indulges with lavish his-and-hers bathrooms, walk-in closets and offices. Glass doors open to a terrace balcony overlooking the grounds.

A 100-foot corridor lined with gallery walls connects to a guest apartment, a gym and a screening room. There are eight bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms and 5.5 baths in all.

Outdoors, the U-shaped design of the home surrounds a wide swimming pool and spa. Various patios, gardens, a motor court and a six-car garage complete the nearly one-acre setting.

Susan Smith and Brett Lawyer of Hilton & Hyland, an affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate, hold the listing.

The London-born author, who died last year at 77, penned such bestsellers as “The World Is Full of Married Men,” “Hollywood Wives” and “Hollywood Husbands.” Together, her books are said to have sold more than 500 million copies worldwide.

She was the sister of actress Joan Collins.

Outlaw settles for a classic look

“Sons of Anarchy” actor Charlie Hunnam has bought a house in the Outpost Estates area of Hollywood Hills for $2,762,500.

Part of a housing tract developed by Charles E. Toberman in the 1920s, the two-story Mission Revival-style home was renovated and restored by previous owner and musician-turned-developer Tony Clearwater.

Fronted by a courtyard with a fountain, the roughly 3,200-square-foot home has vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, arched doors and windows as well as a formal entry with Spanish tile floors. A formal dining room and a step-down living room with a remote-controlled fireplace and drop-down projection screen sit off the entry area.

Showcasing a more contemporary style, the kitchen features a tiled backsplash, dark wood cabinetry and a center island topped with pendant lighting. The master bedroom has a clawfoot soaking tub and a walk-in closet. A front-facing balcony sits off the master suite. The home has a total of four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms.

Outdoors, a long loggia with a fountain feature sits adjacent to a swimming pool. Various patios, an outdoor fireplace, lawns and landscaping complete the hedged and gated setting.

Skyler Hynes and Tyson Rocco Pelanconi of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage were the listing agents. Nick Segal and Rick Ojeda of Partners Trust Beverly Hills represented the buyer.

The 35-year-old Hunnam is best known for his role as Jackson “Jax” Teller on the FX series “Sons of Anarchy,” which concluded in 2014 after seven seasons. Among his film credits are “Deadfall” (2012), “Pacific Rim” (2013) and “Crimson Peak” (2015).

A home worth killing for

Actor Joel Kinnaman, who will appear in the summer tentpole movie “Suicide Squad,” has put his home in the Hollywood Hills West area on the market for $2.795 million.

Offering a mix of contemporary and Mediterranean style, the multilevel home has open-plan interiors, rich oak floors and a living room with a concrete hearth and fireplace. A wall of glass takes in the grounds and views extending from Century City to the ocean.

A dining area, a great room, an updated kitchen, three bedrooms and three bathrooms are within the 2,542 square feet of white-walled space.

The master suite has a fireplace, a walk-in closet and a bathroom done in tumbled stone. Another suite has a fireplace and a balcony overlooking the grounds.

Glass doors off the main level open to a square pool set within a brick patio. An outdoor sitting area, lawns and landscaping complete the setting.

Kinnaman bought the house two years ago for $2.245 million, records show. Actor-turned-developer Roger Davis of “Dark Shadows” fame is a former homeowner.

Tami Pardee and Justin Alexander of Pardee Properties hold the listing.

Kinnaman, 36, has appeared in such films as “Safe House” (2012), “RoboCop” (2014) and “Run All Night” (2015). His acting credits also include the drama series “The Killing” and “House of Cards.”

Downsizing her closet space

Television personality and fashion designer Lauren Conrad has sold a penthouse in the Beverly Hills area for $2.8 million — more than double what she paid for the property four years ago.

The approximately 3,200-square-foot residence saw a complete makeover during Conrad’s ownership and offers a glimpse of her personal style: bold living areas done in reclaimed materials, colorful hues and wall treatments, accentuated by a collection of vintage and modernist furnishings.

Among features of note are a living room with a wall of reclaimed brick, an eat-in country-style kitchen and a gentlemen’s lounge topped with a black-lacquered ceiling. Sliding barn-style doors divide the master suite, which features a boutique-inspired closet and a separate sitting room.

In all, there are two bedrooms and three bathrooms.

Outdoors, a garden terrace tiled in black-and-white marble has an outdoor dining area, planters and city views.

The penthouse came to market in November for $3.2 million. Conrad paid $1.35 million for the unit in 2012.

Cary Glenn of Main Beach Realty was the listing agent. Nerses Ananyan of Titus Realty represented the buyer.

The 30-year-old Conrad gained fame on the MTV show “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County” and the spinoff “The Hills.” She has since written multiple books and launched the fashion line LC Lauren Conrad in 2009.

Myspace was once their space

A Malibu estate with decades of Hollywood ties and less than six degrees of separation between the film “Grease” and the social network Myspace is on the market in Malibu at $7.49 million.

Among previous owners of the two-story ranch-style home is “Grease” star Olivia Newton-John, who sold the property to television producer Neal Marlens and his wife, producer and writer Carol Black, in 1994.

A decade later, Oscar-winning actress Sally Field acquired the property from Marlens and Black for about $4.8 million. She would sell the house to the current owners, former Myspace CEO Mike Jones and his wife, Jennifer, in 2011 for $5.65 million.

Set among tall oaks on more than three acres, the park-like setting includes a separate guesthouse, a swimming pool, a lighted tennis court, a horse paddock, a greenhouse and a tepee. Nearby trails provide access to more than 2,000 acres of parkland.

A great room with a fireplace, a remodeled kitchen, a dining room and a playroom lie within 6,000 square feet of white-walled space. Beamed ceilings, wood floors, built-ins and walls of picture windows retain the home’s classic vibe.

The master suite has an office/library, a fireplace and his-and-hers baths for a total of five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms.

A separate guest suite has its own office.

Madison Hildebrand and Jennifer Chrisman, both with Partners Trust Malibu, hold the listing.
